Dr. Ted Schaffer is a board certified family physician with Certificates of Added Qualification in both Geriatrics and Sports Medicine. Dr. Schaffer grew up near Hershey Pa, graduated from Grove City College, and then attended the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University. He did his residency training at St Margaret Memorial Hospital under the leadership of Dr. James A Ferrante and then joined Glenshaw Medical Associates which later became a part of Renaissance Family Practice. For the past 16 years Dr. Schaffer has also been the Director of the prestigious UPMC St Margaret Family Medicine Residency program, which is the largest family medicine residency in Pennsylvania. He has 4 grown children, 3 of whom are family physicians with the fourth currently in medical school.
Dr. Schaffer and his wife Nancy reside in Hampton township. In his spare time, he enjoys collecting antiques, running, and tending his apple orchard.
