Kavitha Bhat, MD, MS is a board certified family physician at RFP-RIDC division. She graduated from Northwestern University Medical School then went to Emory University’s Family Medicine Residency program where she was Chief Resident. After residency, she has worked in various academic medical departments and residency programs, at Northwestern University, University of Iowa, Georgetown University and finally University of Pittsburgh before settling into private practice at Renaissance Family Practice. Over the years, she has taught medical students & residents, practiced family-based maternity care, run an adolescent-based health clinic and school based health center, has been Medical Director of the Weight Management Clinic at University of Iowa, and performed research in obesity and community-based health. She currently practices primary care including adult preventive care, women’s health, child and adolescent health.
